yes, I do have a livejournal account...
I basically haven't written in this thing for... oh... almost a year! I have recently been reminded of its existence and decided I should write a lil sumthing sumthing in it.

Junior year of college thus far has been a blast! Turning 21 was a huge benchmark in my life ;-) No more worrying about the LCB, the police, the IDs, the extreme trouble I could get in if caught etc. It's a liberating feeling to walk into anywhere and know that I'm allowed to be there!

I've been staying busy with school, work, and Alpha Phi. But no worries, fun is still being had! I love my sisters, and I love my friends, and they are the people who are keeping me sane through all of the responsibilities and duties I have. (Thanks guys!)

I can't really say that I will now become a frequent LJ user once again. Let's be honest, I completely forgot about this thing for such a long time... who knows if I'll recall its existence after I post this update ;-) But rest assured, I'll def try to check in and post a few (maybe some crazy random) entries for your enjoyment!!

    It's been a while, huh...
Well, since the last time I wrote in this thing I had just turned 20. And let me tell you... it's no picnic. 20 is kinda blah, but I am counting down the 350 something more days till my next birthday :-)

Things have been pretty good. School has been rough, but when is it not!? Crush is our Valentine's Day dance, or our midpledge formal or whatever you want to call it. That was the weekend after my birthday and it was a blast! Jon came down for the weekend and was one of my dates :-) We each get to bring two so my other date was the infamous Grant who made such an impression at Crush when he went his freshman year ;-) The 3 of us had such a good time! Jon ended up making friends with my sisters' boyfriends and dates, and Grant and I had plenty of time to break it down on the dance floor!

Jonny's time here, though short, was awesome as it always is. We did our usual drive around, get lost and somehow find our way back thing. This time when we drove around to get lost (on Sunday) we ended up at the Waterfront, how bout that!? We saw Boogeyman, def a freaky movie, and shopped. I got The Notebook that day and since I bought like a week ago I think it has been watched about a hundred times. A bunch of us watched it on Valentine's Day and friends have been borrowing it just about every night! Awesome movie.

This past weekend was really fun too... lotsa partying! I heart my sisters! Also, our new girls are freakin' awesome! I love them all!!!! Well, thats all from me for now. Things are busy so when I do get to update, be excited!

    yay!
Well I had an awesome birthday! Saturday night kicked off the festivities with a trip to the bar with some of my fave girls! They, very loudly, sang to me at midnight which was so cute and got me some glances from the surrounding people :-) After that we had a totally fun dance party in Amy's room! Everybody was kung fu fighting...

This morning we all went to brunch, I unfortnuately had to to finish some work and then Jess L and I went to dinner. Yay DQ! Then we headed to Korey's house for a while and back to the dorm. We hung out on the 6th floor where I was greeted with gifts which I love!! Thanks girls! We watched the first half and the half time show which wasn't that bad even though there were no pop artists and boobs flashing the screen. We eventually made it back down to the wing to watch the end of the game with my phis! The night ended with some hilarious mad libbing with Amanda and Sara :-p

Thanks to everyone who called me today! I loved hearing from all of you. The IMs and the shout-outs in away messages were awesome! Love you guys!!!

Well, here's a little update on whats been going on with me. I got sick last week again and this time it was so bad I had to go home. My fever was stuck at 102.5 for 2 days, I was in and out of the doctors office, and felt like shit. I found out I have tonsilities which is basically inflammed tonsils. This made my throat so sore that I couldnt eat or drink or really just swallow anything so it was pretty bad until I got the pain meds. Because I was just sick 2 weeks ago, and then got sick again the doctors are watching me now and if I get sick again soon I'm gonna have to get tested and all kinds of stuff to see if those bad boys are going to have to be removed. Yikes!

So since I was sick I missed a helluva lotta classes and am waaaayyy behind! This week I'm dedicating to catching up on shit! Which is gonna be hard since Tuesday is mardi gras and I'm so psyched for Crush which is Saturday! Have a wonderful evening everyone and thanks for the birthday wishes!

(Happy Birthday Sammy my birthday buddy!)
Random Fact: Sam and I were born on the same day in the same hospital. He was born at 9 something in the morning and I was born at 11:02am which means we were in the nursery together and that is where we first met, lol.

    busy busy
Well I don't really have time to write in this cuz I have to study for my spanish test, but I thought I'd give a quick update. Last week I was real sick, this weekend was real fun. This week I have a LOTTA work to do, and rush starts Tuesday. I am pretty excited since this is my first big/formal rush, but I'm also nervous. It should be a fun experience.

The Steelers lost Sunday :-) Regardless of the fact that it would have been exciting if they made it to the Superbowl (which is on my birthday!!!), since I am from Cleveland I have to be happy they didn't make it. so hahaha!

That's all for now. It's time to learn some spanish and do some ed psych... yahoo...

    hehe
Well I am finally not dying in bed anymore. I was sick, if you didn't know, from Friday night thru the week. It was a shitty long weekend because I was dead in my room for its entirety. The only perks of the weekend had to be spending some Q.T. with the girls on the wing because that is all I did if I wasn't asleep. I watched a million movies, and had some good laughs with my other two sick partners - Sara and Amanda. Oh and hiding from the fire on Monday was def fun... until Cilla yelled at us lol.

Well, since I was real sick I missed more classes than I would have liked which sucks. I hate making up work. but what can ya do.

Rush is coming up. Which means I will be very very busy. What else is new? But for real, it will be time consuming. And that same week is when I start back at work :-/

Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Since I couldn't enjoy last weekend this coming weekend will be my first fun filled weekend of college in '05. :-P

    It's been a while
Well since my last update, I spent another few days at home and then moved back on campus for my fourth semester. Classes seem alright. I changed my schedule a little bit... I dropped Social Psych and am now taking Spanish. I have never taken spanish before, well except in elementary school, but I figure it's about time. I mean I've gone to Mexico for the past 4 summers, have been to Spain and want to go back real bad cuz it was awesome, and am having ideas of possibly studying abroad somewhere Spanish speaking. Everyone in my class has at least some sort of background in Spanish, but not me. I was a french girl all the way thru to AP French senior year. But it's college, I can take any class I want so I am :-)

Ok so thats spanish. I am also taking Families in Drama which is a lit class and seems like it'll be cool since we're reading plays I read in high school like Death of a Salesman and A Doll's House. My teacher is pregnant, wonder what would happen if she went into labor during the semester... no class? My other professor for developmental psych will not be back to duq until the 25th cuz he had emergency eye surgery so that class has a 2 week delay. My math class is pretty fun. It's a little fundamental, and we get to work in groups and having Brandon and Tim in my class def makes things interesting. Ed Psych 2, is ed psych... and special ed will be another special ed class. Nothing exciting to report on those yet.

It's been fun being back to school and hanging out with everyone again. It makes me so glad that another break has gone by and still my friends from like the 2nd week of school and I are still so close. Always good times :-) As for Alpha Phi, everything is going well. We're transitioning officers and beginning rush stuff soon. (Jessie L, I had a great time on Tuesday night babe!)

So that's really all that's going on. Good Luck to everyone on a new semester!

    4 days into the year
Well, it's been 4 full days of not... ya know... for me! And believe me it's been hard as hell! For anyone who hasn't tried before, don't do it! It's so freaking difficult to stop. Quite honestly the only way I got through the first few days was my bro! Jon has been monitoring me... and having Amanda here was a very good distraction!

Amanda got here bright and early Sunday morning. I got to take her to my church, Beachwood Place, Legacy Village, bowling hehe, downtown and to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We got to eat some quality Jewish food at Corkey and Lenny's. Matzah ball soup, gefilta fish, latkas, corn beef etc. yum! I was so glad she came up to visit, we had a great time.

Tonight I went to Jonny's game. Saw the ex who I despise but still manage to be friendly with. He's still with 'that girl' whatever. He's not even worth talking about... So after the game I went to the movies w/ Sarah and Rachael Kaplan, two of my favorite twins. We saw Closer which was a strange weird basically plotless movie, but it got good reviews...

Well, I only have a few more days of break left and thats kinda sad. I'm excited to go back and see everyone but classes... yuck! So, I gotta live up the last few days here in da wood! Adios for now kids.

    happy new year
Happy 2005 everyone! This year will be very interesting and I'm looking forward to it. I do have a resolution I'm sure many of you will be excited to hear about. Aside from just getting/maintaining good grades, staying in close contact with the people I love, and the usual stuff I always try to do each year... I'm gonna try to quit a certain habit I have acquired while at college. Since Christmas I have drasically cut down, and since Friday night I've been without. You may say, yahoo Liz, 26 hours... but hey! It's a start, it's hard as hell, I'm trying, and this time I kinda think I'm gonna do it. [insert disclaimer here - just in case]

Thursday night sucked because my basement began to flood. Too much freakin' snow melted, built up and clogged our drain in the backyard. I caught it before it got TOO bad but it kept me, my bro and my mom up all night cuz we had to bucket water out of the drain thingy to keep it from coming into the house again. But no worries, that did not put a damper on the party situation! A plumber fixed the drain, we dried the area as best we could, moved the couch over the wet spot (lol) and the party was on! We def kicked off the new year the right way! It was just my close friends (with the exception of Steph who was in Chicago, Adam who was in Cincy and Brian who was in Israel). Jenna, Lisa, Sam, Anna, George, Matt, Sara, Noah, David, Jonny, Laura and I had a blast! We watched the ball drop and watched many of the performances on abc and mtv. It was a good time, yay for digital cameras lol.

Today Jon and I saw Lemony Snickets Series of Unfortunate Events which was a pretty good movie. For being a children's movie quite a lot of people died, but they didn't show the deaths. Many of my friends left tonight, or are leaving tomorrow for school. I'm gonna miss them, we had an awesome break! Tomorrow I am also expecting a visitor! Amanda is coming to spend a few days with me. I think she'll have a good time in Cleveland... ;-)

Well Happy New Year everyone! Enjoy 2005!

    merry christmas
Santa was my best buddy this Christmas! I got some awesome presents! :-P

My holiday went well as I hope everyone's did. We went to my aunt and uncle's house with my fam. We got 4 new additions to the family since last Christmas! My cousin Matt got married to Holly in July. My cousin Michael just got engaged to Raquel! My cousin Rachel also got engaged to Nick who is curently in Iraq, but will return home in April. And, my other cousins just had a baby! Yay! I am a "first cousin once removed" lol! I havent seen her yet since they live in Rochester, but Emmy I'm sure you're the cutest baby ever and I can't wait to see you!

So we had lots to celebrate this Christmas. Of course, the night could not be complete without some charades. If you don't know me or my family's craziness, all yea long we joke about how we'll never play charades again on Christmas. And still, we play every year! It always ends up a little competitive but it's sooo amusing, and people try to think of the hardest things for the other team (the teams change each year) to act out. It's a lot of fun and now that most of my younger cousins are getting older everyone plays, we just help out the younger ones ;-)

All in all it was a very nice Christmas. Hope everyone had a great day!

    Santa comes tonight!
Yay for Christmas! I just got back from midnight mass which at my church is really 10pm mass :-) My presents are wrapped and under the tree... and now I'm helping my mom wrap some more and watching my all time fave Christmas movie -- A Christmas Story! It was filmed in Cleveland ya know!? My dad was actually downtown when they filmed the opening scene where Ralphy is looking in the window at the red ryder bee bee gun!

Well since today is Christmas Eve I have a few bday shout outs to make... Happy 21 Jess Lattner and Danny! And Happy "20 something" (as she puts it) to Christina, my big big! Last night I celebrated with Danny and everyone for his 21st and he did the full 21 shots! oy! way to be!

So, I should get back to wrapping and preparing for tomorrow since Santa comes tonight and if I'm not asleep by the time he hits Beachwood he may skip over my house!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

    da' snow
Today was one helluva snow day. We got just about 2 feet of snow and it's still coming down. In fact I hear the little icey pelt thingys hitting my roof and windows. I spent most of the day at Alpine Valley with Brandon. We had a kick ass time skiing. I hadn't been in a few years cuz I had a snowboarding phase which didn't amount to much since I kinda sucked. I could go down the hills just fine, it was the whole stopping thing that baffeled me. I just fell to stop lol. So with skiing I got back into the swing of things rather quickly. Remembered my ski lessons from back in the day: "pizza stop" - "parallels" lol. The roads are pretty shitty; even in parts of Beachwood they weren't amazing. Surprising huh? Bwood usually spends loads of money on stuff like snow plows and salt.

In further news, I now will have to have 24 hour surveillance on Marissa during all winter breaks from here on out. She just can't seem to stay away from the hospitals during these vacations. First a broken ankle, and now... well, I love you dude! Feel better. And no worries about next break, I'll be watching out for ya!

    uh
Should I be upset or just accept the fact that the 2 classes I worked the most at, and the 2 classes that were the biggest pains in the butt are the 2 classes that I didn't do all that great in!? I mean I knew they were gonna be difficult. For one, ed psych - I have never written so many long-ass papers for one class in my life. 3 papers over 12 pages each and my final paper was 27 pages! Too much writing, made my head hurt. And now, even though I spent so much time for that class, the grade does not properly reflect.

Moving on, philosophy - my teacher was to say the least interesting... her grading policies were a lil crazy... and the stuff we had to know, whatever. I'd never taken philosophy before. My teacher had us question God every class. I've been told I was hardcore Catholic, I mean I've had friends tell me they thought I'd be a nun (whatcha think about that one?). But really I have no problem questioning God, in fact it makes me believe in Him even more because regardless of what goes on in my life, He's been there. And believe me I've dealt with a helluva lotta shit and there is no way I could have pulled myself through it all alone. So that class really pissed me off. But whatever, I can't change the grade BUT I know I tried and got a lot out of it...

Aside from my academic complaining, break has been zooming by. Christmas is sooo soon!!! My bro, my best friend and I went to Neale Park tonight which is this place that always has huge a Christmas light display blocks and blocks long. We also went downtown to check out the lights at Public Square. It's all coming together! I mean the lights, the shopping, the snow (and more snow and more snow), the tree, the fam coming into town, the baking... Christmas is upon us :-) Now, when does 24 hours of A Christmas Story start?

    the weekend
This weekend was pretty fun. Friday night Jenna (finally) came home from school so I got to see her at Feig's house that night. I left just before everyone decided to go hot tubbing and went to Anna's house to hang with her for a while. I'm glad everyone is home. Another semester has gone by and I'm still close with the people I grew up with. Take Jenna and I for instance, we've known each other since we were 3. And everyone else I met in kindergarten with the few exceptions like Brandon (6th grade) and Steph (9th grade). I just think it's wonderful that although we have all gone our seperate ways, when we see each other it's like we never left.

Saturday afternoon Anna and I went shopping, and I went to coffee with Shawna. Later that evening I ended up in Pittsburgh again at Aaron and Andrea's Christmas party which was real fun. I hadn't seen the two of them since Halloween, and I got to see Christina and Sara too, yay!!! I couldnt spent the night tho cuz the snow began hitting c-town hard that night and I left right before it got bad out. Sunday I stayed in all day watching movies and cleaning my room which I finished, thank you thank you. That was quite a project. Today I did some more shopping and ended up meeting up with Jenna for some more shopping :-)

I just got an email today from my cousin Michael who is now engaged! I'm so psyched! Another wedding!!! Let me tell you, weddings with my family are crazy fun! Mike's 3 older brothers are married and we definitely had a blast at those! This past summer at Matt's wedding my dad and his dad bought the hotel, bar, and DJ for another hour cuz everyone was having such a good time ;-)

Christmas is only days away... wow! I can't believe that it's Santa time again! Merry almost Christmas!

    craziness!
Things have been rather eventful since I've been home. Let's see since the last time I updated you the gang and I watched Elf one night (yes that is my beachwood crew) and played all the games and stuff in the special features. We even sang to Elf Karoke! I was semi-surprised that they knew the words to some Christmas carols but then again they are played in the department stores... and they know me :-) They def got a crack out of "boughs" of holly (not balls), and "Don we now our gay apparel" who is Don? they asked. And what makes my clothes gay? lol! love you guys! And the word "yuletide" haha don't even go there :-P

So Wednesday night after Fondue at Brian's house, I headed to the house in New York. This is where my crazy night begins... I had to drop off some movies at Blockbuster before taking off so I did that. I pulled out of the parking lot, turned the corner, looked in my rearview mirror and what do I see??? OH A POLICE CAR FLASHING IT'S LIGHTS! wtf!?
"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
    'No'
"Because you have a headlight out"
'Are you serious officer I had no idea'
"I'll need to see your license registration insurance blah blah blah"
'Ok but really I didn't know it was out I'm sorry I'll take care of it'
"Well yes you're going to have to do that, but let me see ur license etc."
He fucking gave me a ticket!!!!! Of course he said as soon as I get it taken care of I'll have to go to the police station and maybe they'll waive some of the cost but that was shitty! If I knew my headlight was going to burn out right then and there, do you think I would have been driving, no! ahhh!

So then I had to go home (I was like 5 minutes from home but in a diff city - Woodmere police...) and switch cars. My dad just bought a car last weekend, uh huh another one. A Buick. So I'm driving to NY, literally 5 miles from the exit, about 15 minutes from the house when... you won't even believe... a rear tire went flat!!!!!!! It was insane. I called my dad who had gotten to the house about an hour ahead of me, and he came to fix it. So I'm chillin' at 2am on the side of 86 - a little NY freeway that only huge trucks were driving on. It was pitch dark, aside from the many many stars. And there's me chillin in the car hoping my dad would come soon! He did and it was fine, but what a bad night!

The rest of the trip was cool. My dad and I watched a movie and hung out Wed night, and Thursday went shopping in Erie for a new tire, a new headlight, and some Christmas stuff :-) Thursday night we got back and I headed to the airport to pick up Brandon! This is the third time since we've been away at school that he's been home. He goes to school in Florida - UCF. We got to talk alot and catch up and made our way to downtown to hang out. The best living guitarist ranked by a bunch of magazines and music critic people plays at the bar my dad owned up until the other summer. (he sold it to his partner's son) So Brandon and I went down there to hear some music and hang out for a while. We went out for some latenight Chinese food after that and I didn't end up getting home till 4am. Gotta love those nights! Today was pretty blah. I read and cleaned up my room a bit and tonight Jon has another game. Last game they won 40-39 and he had 8 pts hell yea kid! And tomorrow depending on the snow I may be returning to Pburgh for our tree dinner at Aaron and Andreas! Exciting winter break, huh?

    ~Snow Fun~
So I'm back into the swing of things here in Beachwood. I have to say that so far being home has been made wonderful by my brother. He is just so awesome. We've had lots of time to talk about all kinds of stuff and hang out. He and I spent, oh I'd say, 2-3 hours outside shoveling snow, having snowball fights, and seriously just goofing off outside today. As weird as it is to say that I feel old, as that big two zero (20) birthday gets closer and closer I am feeling it. Hell 20 is half way to 40! I think it's just cuz I miss being a kid. It was so much easier and more fun! But today hangin' with Jon and being silly like we used to be when we were younger was just awesome. I told him that I will never have a family somewhere it doesn't snow. As much as I hate the cold weather, I love snow and I love playing in snow and I love skiing (he's a snowboarder but I suck at that) and I have many good memories of winter and I would not want kids to be without the opportuinty to have fun in a snowy winter like we did.

Last night Matt, Brian, Lisa, Sam, Steph, Sara, Noah and I did our usual "nothing better to do on a Sunday night" thing and went to Matt's to watch movies and play pounce. Pounce is our newest favorite game. And believe me we have had many stages of favorite card games :-) Back in middle school and 9th grade we liked Hearts and Spades. Those progressively moved to Euchre and Asshole. We had many "No more cards!!" periods, but we learned this new game and its crazy! Its like group solitaire and any number of people can play. Actually the more the better.

I've done little Christmas shopping in the 2 days I've been home so this week I'll have to start cracking down on that. However, I have a rather messy room to clean. You would think that with 3 closets in my room shit wouldn't still get piled on the floor, but let me tell you... it does ;-)

    finals are over!
So I def havent written in this thing in a while, and that would be due to the excessive amount of time I spent studying and writing papers all week. But guess what! It's all over now! The tests weren't that bad. Philosophy def was the hardest test I took, and that was the one I had to do the best on... go figure. And I guess it doesnt help that I took the test at 11am Thursday when I spent all night at the hospital. Oh yeah, thats another thing. I ended up in the hospital Wednesday night with chest pains and the inability to breath. Don't really know where it came from but around 1:30am my heart hurt and I was taking really short breaths cuz it hurt to breath. Amanda, Sara, Cilla, and Katie took me to the hospital around 3 and we spent all night there! It was a field trip! After an ekg, blood tests, xrays and sitting around for numerous hours none of the tests revealed anything serious to my health so they let me go. There was some heart muscle thing going on in there. They dont really know where it came from but it could have been sparked by anxiety so they say. Thats possible, but I wasnt feeling that anxious about anything. Maybe internally I was and I didnt know it?

Friday I took my last final and that night we had a blast on the wing! Always good times! Today (well technically yesterday) I left Duq and got home around 7pm. Matt, Steph, Brian, Sara, Harold, Adam and I went to see Ocean's 12. It was okay, but the first one was definitely better... and it was easier to understand how it all came together. As for the rest of the night, I'm prob gonna go read my book and go to sleep. Yes I know, shocking right!? Well I pulled 2 all nighters in a row so by now I am drained! Hope everyone at duq is having a good evening and good luck on the rest of your finals! Miss you! G'night peeps!
